35/35

Today I am 35 weeks pregnant with 35 days to go until Aug 3rd! Been feeling pretty good but getting tired more easily now. I need to take many breaks while doing certain things. We haven't done much in Bailey's room this week since the glider hasn't arrived yet, so we will arrange things in there once we get that set up...hopefully by Thursday. In the meantime, we have been just cleaning, organizing and making room in the rest of the house. I am also trying to get caught up on some reading before Bailey comes because I know I won't have much time then. I can't believe we have about a month to go, this is crazy! I had a dream last night and Bailey was in it, she had blond hair, bright blue eyes, and the biggest smile...wonder if that's what she will look like.

Here are some pictures of the belly today as well as one of Tucker in his favorite position(because I thought it was a handsome picture of him!).

Tucker doing the superman...

Oh! And an interesting and fun fact that my sister reminded me of...the name Bailey is SOMEwhat in our family down the line. Not really sure the relation, but on my mom's dad's side (my Papa), we are in some way related to James Bailey from Barnum & Bailey. I can't believe I forgot that! I remember my mom telling me I was related to Bailey from Barnum & Bailey when we went to the circus a long time ago, now I just need to dig up some information on that and figure out the relation.

40 days...

Feels like I haven't updated too much, so I will do a quick one today. I am currently 34 weeks and 2 days pregnant! It is crazy to me that she will be considered full term in about 3 weeks. We had a check up yesterday and Bailey decided to curl up in a ball or something because when I was on lying down on my back, my belly was lopsided with a huge mound on my left side. The doctor smiled and kept giggling about it. She said she was pretty sure her head was still down but she could possibly still flip around, I hope not. I go in 2 more weeks, then after that it is every week! So exciting, starting to get nervous since I have so much to do! I have to take so many breaks because even folding laundry makes me tired.

Wes and I got some things accomplished the past few days since I have been on break. We finally purchased our glider! It should be here about Thursday...I can't wait to put it in the room! We also got a little bookshelf for her room. I did her first load of laundry this week and let me tell you...it is way more fun folding and putting away her clothes than my own (I am sure that feeling won't last forever though)! Now we are focusing on organizing the rest of the house while Wes works outside. We had a hole in the backyard for a pond but since we are adding sweet Bailey to our family, we decided to not get the pond going. Instead, he filled it in and is in the process of making a little garden area. When everything is done inside and outside, we will post some pictures!

Showering little miss Bailey!

This past Saturday my friend Melanie put on a shower at her house for us and Bailey. I wanted to do a more laid back shower where Wes could be a part of it, so we made it co-ed. It was nice to see some old friends whom we haven't seen in a long time. My friend Lisa who I pole vaulted with at Cal State Northridge even came with her daughter from Sacramento! I hadn't met her 18 month old daughter yet so that was exciting. It was nice having Wes there so people could celebrate with him, since I got to have my own girls shower in L.A. Here are some pictures of our afternoon.

Bailey's very proud and excited parents!!!

I read the cards while Wes opened the presents...

This is the diaper cake Melanie made! So cute!

Thanks for a great shower ladies!

Melanie and Gabri, the girls who made this day great!

Today I had my work shower that Brandy and another teacher Brianna put together. I felt overwhelmed with love and support from so many co-workers. Seeing how generous the ladies at work were today made me realize that I have amazing people in my life. Those people being my family, friends, and people I work with. I am truly blessed with all the support everyone has been giving us. It has meant a great deal to us... Bailey is one lucky little girl already!

Tomorrow is my last day with my 1st graders before they move on to 2nd grade, which honestly....I am ready for. I am very much ready for break so I can get the nursery put together and prepare the house for our little bundle of joy! Wes and I are very excited to put our gift cards to use and get ourselves things (I mean Bailey some things) for the nursery, hopefully this coming week! I am glad I will be able to get some rest when I need it so I won't over do myself, like I feel like I have been doing this week. I can't wait to post pictures of a completed nursery! Keep checking for those!

33 weeks and 2 days pregnant... 47 days to go until the due date... and a million things to do. Yikes!

32 weeks and still counting...

We are coming up on 33 weeks (Tuesdays are when the week changes) and I will be done with work! I am playing by ear whether or not I will be working the week before Bailey is due. I am including 2 pictures we took this week. If I wasn't so exhausted from our Reno shower today then I would post shower pictures as well. Keep an eye out for them in the next few days :).

So this picture is of Wes and the diaper bag that our friend Megan got us. He was VERY excited to have his own bag for him and Bailey. I am sure he can't wait to load it with goodies for him and his little girl :).

Me at 32 weeks with Bella and Tucker (and of course Bailey too!)...

Shake, rattle, and roll!

Bailey is getting bigger and I am feeling her more and more. Last night when I was laying in bed watching T.V., Wes had his hand on my belly but had fallen asleep. I could feel her moving and pushing out a lot and then all of a sudden she pushed super hard and rolled a leg or something across my belly. Wes woke up! He looked all startled and asked "Was that HER??" I said yes and he was in awe. I couldn't believe she could wake him up like that, since sometimes I can't get him to wake up by shaking him. It was such a neat moment to see him so excited to feel her so much.

So as I am sitting here playing on the computer Bailey is moving and rolling all around, so I decided to take a video of it and post it on here. She got camera shy because she stopped going so crazy but you can still see her moving around in there :). Enjoy! I will post more if I get a real good one.

31 weeks!

Today we had our last
ultrasound and a quick check up with the doctor. Bailey is still a girl (haha)! She is also measuring right on and everything looks great. The tech was trying to get us some great pictures but Bailey kept covering her face. She was trying to sleep so she didn't look so happy. The tech also said she was trying to get a smile out of her so she could put her on the walls in the new ultrasound room. Wes is very proud that she is considered "wall-worthy". It looks like she got Wes' lips, which is what I wanted! She looks like a cutie and we can't wait to meet her in about 9 weeks!! Our next thing on the list is calling a pediatrician.

DIY Closet Dividers

I saw some dividers used to sort baby clothes according to sizes and thought that since I was happy with the way Bailey's letters came out, I was capable of doing these as well. I wanted to use wooden door hangers but both craft stores I went to didn't have any, so I had to get creative. Here is how they came out.

Here are the materials I gathered to do my project. I ended up not using the polka dot ribbon though, you will understand why when you see the finished product. I honestly had no idea what I wanted to do with these, I just bought stuff I thought was cute and went with the room, then started to paint and see where it went.

This is where I got stuck and put it away for about 2 weeks. I couldn't decide what to do since there was sooo much white. I didn't want to overload them with butterflies, flowers, leaves, etc. so I decided to add a few polka dots (well...maybe a little more than a few). The sizes in the stencil form were bothering me too so I decided to fill them in so they were solid. Last thing I did was hot glue the ribbons so I could hang them. I ran out of ribbon for one, so I need to still get that for the project can be complete and I can hang them all. I am pretty happy with how they came out, considering how frustrated and stumped I got with what I wanted to do with them.

After adding the polka dots, I felt much better with the final product. I think polka dots make everything better! :) The numbers still bother me, but hey...these were made with love for Bailey! I think she would be proud of her mommy.

L.A. baby shower

This past weekend was my baby shower back home in L.A. My best friend Jen (aka Jen Jen or soon to be Auntie Jen Jen) threw the shower at her condo. We had it in her community room which was a perfect place to have it!

When I walked in and saw the Baby Shower sign and the pink table cloths, I definitely got teary eyed. It was a very surreal moment for me, that the baby shower was actually for me. We had a great turn out of family and friends from all chapters of my life. The farthest traveler was my godmother Aunt Regina who came in from Denver! It was a very nice afternoon and I am thankful for all the people who came to share in this wonderful celebration! I am including some pictures I got on my camera. There are more pictures out there that I will post later when I get them from some people:). Enjoy!
Jen finishing up getting ready for everyone to arrive. Great job Jen Jen!!

The great party favors Jen made!

Best friends since 3rd grade!! Me and Kelly

Those are just a few pictures from the great afternoon, I will post more as I get them!

Later that night we had a little reunion with the friends I did sports medicine with in high school. We became a close group during those 2 years of high school since we spent a great amount of time together in class and outside of school at sporting events. It has been over 7 years since I have seen them, maybe even 9 for a couple of them!

Little survey I found

So I found this little survey on another person's blog so I thought I would add it to my blog today.

How far along? :
29 weeks!

Total weight gain/loss:
Honestly not sure of the number but if it was a concern, my doctor would tell me since she is strict about that.

How big is baby?:
According to a baby website....Bailey is about 2 1/2 pounds and a bit over 15 inches from head to heel.

Maternity clothes?:
For the most part, yes.

Sleep:
It depends on how late I eat dinner and what I eat. I have learned to eat earlier so I am not in pain when I go to bed. I am still able to get somewhat comfortable though, so that is good.

Best moment this week:
Having the doctor tell me I am getting up there! Also every time I feel her move a lot.

Movement:
Yea she has gone from kicks to more rolling, moving around, and pushing out. Doctor says that is completely normal :) I love watching my belly roll from all her movement.

Food cravings:
Not really actually, but if I do hear something that sounds yummy, I HAVE to have it right then. I still can't stand the thought of a homemade hamburger, steak, or salmon. ICK!

Belly Button in or out?:
Flat and outie by the the end of the day. Wes commented today "your belly button is poking out" when I was sitting at the doctors office. So I guess sometimes it is noticeable through my shirt. YIKES!

Milestones:
Being in 3rd trimester and going from seeing the doctor every 4 weeks to every 2 weeks now.

New Pregnancy Symptom:
Noticing I get little pins and needles in my feet now when I sit with my legs crossed or sit for too long.

What I am looking forward to:
My last ultrasound in 2 weeks!

Baby girl Williams' name!

So we have held out on telling the world her name, but I feel it is time since so many people have asked and I am tired of keeping it a secret! Wes and I had a very hard time with girls names in the beginning because we really couldn't agree on anything. It was Valentine's Day (also the anniversary of when he asked me to marry him) and we were watching TV while I shouted out names to him from a baby name book and online. Most of them made us laugh, until I shouted out Bailey. We both were like "Hey, I really like that one!" And Wes pretty much said it was settled, her name would be Bailey if it was a girl (this was before we knew the gender). So Bailey isn't a family name or anything, just a name from a book that we both really liked. I told him we should keep looking but every time I said a name he would, "Nope, her name is Bailey." So now instead of calling her baby we can call her Bailey :).

As for the letters, I bought plain wood letters at the craft store, along with the paint. I figured it would be a quick easy job. Well, that quick easy job turned into about a 5 hour job that left my shoulders so tight! I am pretty impressed with how they turned out, seeing how I don't have much creativity in me. I definitely didn't get my mom's gene with that one. Wes put the letters on the back side of the crib for the effect, but we are going to put them up on the wall above her crib.

I am now in the process of making closet dividers to sort the different baby clothe sizes, I will post those one they are finished. I also went to the store today to buy yarn and a crocheting needle to make a baby blanket. I know how to make a simple blanket but have been watching You Tube videos to help give me different pattern ideas. I have never actually finished a blanket, so lets hope I can get this one finished before she is 16.
