I saw some dividers used to sort baby clothes according to sizes and thought that since I was happy with the way Bailey's letters came out, I was capable of doing these as well. I wanted to use wooden door hangers but both craft stores I went to didn't have any, so I had to get creative. Here is how they came out.
Here are the materials I gathered to do my project. I ended up not using the polka dot ribbon though, you will understand why when you see the finished product. I honestly had no idea what I wanted to do with these, I just bought stuff I thought was cute and went with the room, then started to paint and see where it went.
This is where I got stuck and put it away for about 2 weeks. I couldn't decide what to do since there was sooo much white. I didn't want to overload them with butterflies, flowers, leaves, etc. so I decided to add a few polka dots (well...maybe a little more than a few). The sizes in the stencil form were bothering me too so I decided to fill them in so they were solid. Last thing I did was hot glue the ribbons so I could hang them. I ran out of ribbon for one, so I need to still get that for the project can be complete and I can hang them all. I am pretty happy with how they came out, considering how frustrated and stumped I got with what I wanted to do with them.
After adding the polka dots, I felt much better with the final product. I think polka dots make everything better! :) The numbers still bother me, but hey...these were made with love for Bailey! I think she would be proud of her mommy.
very cute, claire! you are so creative!
ReplyDeleteNice...I have you fooled! hehe Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWHERE DID YOU GET THE STENCIL FOR THE DOTS AT
ReplyDeleteI am sorry I am just seeing this. I had a stencil that I bought from Michael's. One of those plastic ones. Nothing fancy!
