Time Flies

I have let too much time pass by before doing another entry! So sit back, grab a snack, and get ready for a novel because this is going to be a very long entry with a lot of pictures!

We have had a busy and eventful year so far. In the Spring, we took a family road trip to Southern California for a wedding in the San Diego area where Bailey was my college friend/teammate's flower girl. Bailey did AMAZING in and was probably the cutest flower girl that I have ever seen. Yes, even cuter than I was!! You may notice Bailey walking down the aisle AFTER the bride is already up there. She decided to go back down with the rest of her petals! Then when those ran out, she reloaded. After the wedding weekend, we headed up the coast to Pismo Beach and Monterey to visit the Aquarium. Pismo Beach was our favorite and we plan to go back to the same hotel which sat on the beach right next to the pier. It was amazing! It was also Bailey's first time at the beach, very exciting. She LOVED it just as much as I do. My number one mission of the trip was to find the beach that my mom took me to during our last road trip before she passed. I don't think I found the exact one, but I felt it was very close by and that made me feel amazing. It was was great taking Bailey there to collect pebbles, just like my mom did with me. I want to go back!

A month or so after our trip, we found out we were expecting a baby! We were both trying to not be too excited since we had two losses back to back previously. If we lost this one, it would have been #3 and off to a fertility clinic. At 7 weeks we saw a heart beat and again at about 11 weeks. I think we both were able to breath a little sigh of relief, yet still expecting something bad to happen. On August 6th, we saw our baby again and found out that Wes is going to be severely outnumbered! Bailey is going to have a little sister! Of course we wanted one of each, but I am excited to have two beautiful girls! I am thankful for every kick I feel from this little girl because it reminds me of how much we wanted her and what we have lost in the past. She has been a strong one already and I can't wait to meet her. I would LOVE if she chose to come to this world on a different day than her due date of Christmas Day (mainly for her sake). If she DOES decide to be on time, just like her big sister, it will be the greatest Christmas gift to date. Better than the mounds of toys my Mom and Dad....I mean... Santa brought me as a kid! Now we just need to come up with a name.

This summer we went to visit my brother, his wife, and their new handsome baby boy Quinn! It was a great visit and we were so lucky to be able to see my sister and her other half as well! Bailey was not very happy about me holding baby Quinn, she got very jealous. I hope that goes away when the baby comes!

In the beginning of July, we went to Utah and Colorado to vist Wes' family. We had fun celebrating the 4th of July with Wes' cousins, Bailey LOVED the fireworks. It was great because they were so close to us. That was the first time she had actually seen fireworks in person like that. We took Bailey down to the river that is on his parents property. She loved fishing and swimming in it. She even caught a couple small (very small) catfish! Bailey had fun on the bikes her Grandparents got her and loved she could just take off on them. She thinks her Grandma and Grandpa's house is pretty cool!

Wes took Bailey camping in the backyard a couple times, one night he even roasted marshmallows and made S'mores with her!

A couple weeks after we got back from our trip to Colorado, Bailey took her first airplane ride! Bailey and I went to Newport Beach to visit my parents at their condo on the bay. We were sad not to have Wes there, but we still enjoyed our time at the beach and visiting with the family. It was perfect timing because my Aunt, Uncle, and cousins from Colorado were there for their family vacation. We spent the day playing on the beach and visiting. Bailey got to play with Madison, who is MY cousin and is about 5 years old. Those two had a blast playing in the sand! My Dad took us out on his boat around the bay and Bailey got to drive the boat! Bailey rode the Ferry across the bay and ate her first Balboa Bar while doing so. It was such a nice visit, can't wait to take Wes next time!

Bailey has started preschool and she LOVES it!! She loves playing with her new friends and won't stop talking about the dollhouse that they have there. It is great because the preschool is only a few blocks from our house, makes for the rushed mornings a bit less stressful.

Bailey's First Day!!!

Bailey just had her THIRD birthday, can you believe it? Her Auntie Jo Jo came for a few days, which was so much fun. Bailey loves her sooooo much! Those two have such a special bond and my heart melts every time they are together. We went to Lake Tahoe the day before the party, Bailey calls it the VERY BIG POOL, it was a blast! It is a shame we don't get there as much, seeing how it is only 30-45 minutes away. I need to get better about that.

Her party was so much fun! She had about 7 or 8 of her friends over, they had fun playing together. One of the girls in my mommy group came, we met for the first time after 3 years! It was more fun this year since she understood what was going on a bit better. It cracked me up when we sang "Happy Birthday" to her and she concentrated SO hard so she wouldn't miss the end when it was time to blow out the candles. She was extremely excited for that.

It was sad to see Jo Jo go home, but it was a weekend that she won't forget. She got over her new fear of the big slide because her Auntie Jo Jo persuaded her to do it. She also got her to climb the clouds at the Discovery museum.

School has started for me and I am now back in 1st grade. This year my co teacher and I are in different classrooms, which has been an adjustment since we were together for 5 years! So far I am enjoying my class and am excited to watch them grow. I forgot how little 1st graders are at the beginning of the year!

I am hoping I will be able to keep everyone up to date, especially with the new baby girl on her way!

Until next time...
